Discover two extraordinary Virginia retreats, each reserved for those who seek more than a place to stay — a setting worthy of life’s most meaningful gatherings. Our Gilded Age Home, an estate of refined proportions just outside Washington, D.C., offers the grandeur of a bygone era reimagined for modern living, its stately interiors and gracious spaces designed to host up to sixteen guests in effortless comfort, mere minutes from the capital’s storied monuments and cultural landmarks. For those drawn to untouched natural splendor, our meticulously restored 1870s Log Cabin commands 400 private acres in the foothills near Charlottesville, where sweeping Blue Ridge vistas, rarefied mountain air, and the region’s celebrated vineyards create an atmosphere of quiet exclusivity. Every detail across both properties has been curated with discerning care — from the architecture to the amenities — ensuring each stay feels less like a getaway and more like an occasion. Whether your vision calls for the timeless sophistication of a historic D.C.-area estate or the secluded elegance of a mountain sanctuary, Gilded Age Vacation Homes offers a rare invitation: to gather those you love in a setting as exceptional as the memories you’ll create there.

Hi, I’m Susan Pierce, and I’m an architect, who designed our home near Washington, DC and restored our
log cabin near Charlottesville. Originally intended for our family and extended families, I now LOVE
sharing them with others, especially when our guests tell us how much they have really enjoyed their
stays. Whether you’re exploring the many sights of Washington, D.C., or unwinding in the peaceful
countryside of Charlottesville, my goal is to provide a welcoming space where you and your loved ones
can relax, re-connect, and make lasting memories. We also have enjoyed hosting work-groups and group-
study programs where luxury and charm are valued.
